CHESHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM — 3 September 2026 — Liberty Dreams LTD has published Anchor Scope, an Android application for calculating anchor chain length in recreational anchoring situations, on Google Play Store.
Anchor Scope is the second Android app the company has released this year, following the launch of Solar Calculator for Boats a few weeks ago. Both applications are part of Liberty Dreams LTD’s portfolio of electrotechnology and Blue Economy tools designed for operational use on small craft and growing businesses.
What Anchor Scope does
Anchor Scope calculates the recommended chain length for a given anchoring scenario. It takes into account depth, tidal range, freeboard, vessel length, seabed type, sustained wind, gusts, sea state and chain diameter.
The application implements the scope ratio approach described in Robert E. Pritchard’s sailing tactics guide and the Royal Yachting Association Day Skipper handbook. The output includes a recommended chain length, an effective chain-to-depth ratio, a safety margin against dragging, and a risk alert if the ratio falls below the minimum threshold for the conditions entered.
A printable summary table is generated for each calculation, intended to be saved or shared before committing to an anchorage.

Solar Calculator for Boats, published earlier this summer, supports photovoltaic system sizing for marine installations. It complements Anchor Scope as part of the same electrotechnology portfolio.
